The TV show I faithfully watch every year is “The Traitors.” Since its inception, I’ve been hooked on the series, always rooting for the Traitors to emerge victorious.

I vividly remember the heart-wrenching moment when Mollie was double-crossed by Harry in the second season and the disappointment I felt when Wilf fell short of the top prize in the first season. Throughout the third season, my hopes were pinned on Charlotte, who, in my opinion, remains the most exceptional Traitor we’ve seen to date.

However, in the latest series, my allegiance shifted from supporting the Traitors as a whole to backing just one individual. In the recent finale, both Stephen and Rachel were declared winners of the show and agreed to split the prize money.

The outcome left me utterly disheartened. Stephen had a strategic opportunity to secure victory but ultimately chose not to seize it. His wavering loyalty, as revealed in his conversation with Claudia Winkleman, cast a shadow of doubt over his intentions.

The turning point where the Traitors changed course to become Faithful led to a disappointing conclusion. The potential betrayal between Rachel and Stephen in the final phase could have added a thrilling twist to the show, reminiscent of the Harry and Mollie episode from the past.

This season failed to captivate me as its predecessors did. Even the introduction of the Secret Traitor element lacked impact, ending prematurely with Fiona’s unmasking. To sustain suspense, the Secret Traitor should have had more influence in shaping events discreetly.

Compared to the previous season’s Seer twist, this season’s Dagger twist and unfolding events felt lackluster. The absence of intense suspicions or recruitment dynamics surrounding Rachel and Stephen diminished the excitement.

Looking ahead to the show’s fifth season, significant alterations are imperative to rekindle its original allure. A true Traitor must embody unwavering loyalty, a characteristic seemingly absent in the latest winners.

The fear looms that familiarity with the show may lead to predictability, jeopardizing its appeal. To sustain interest and intrigue, innovative changes are essential to maintain the show’s impact and keep viewers engaged.
