After being labeled as “Satan’s puppet,” a woman has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for breaking into her neighbor’s home, murdering her, and drinking her blood.

Cynthia Ming, 54, initially pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder of Angie Melissa Moore, 45, on September 7, 2022. She later changed her plea to guilty and accepted a 50-year sentence from the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.

Moore called 911 just before midnight on September 6, 2022, reporting an attempted break-in at her house. When the police arrived at Whispering Ave, they found Moore dead, naked, and covered in blood.

Ming attempted to flee but was subdued by the police using a Taser. She confessed to breaking into the victim’s home, taking a gun from her, shooting her in the head, and drinking her blood because Moore had allegedly killed her dog, as reported by the Mirror US.

Dr. Lee Carter, Ming’s doctor, testified that she had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, and schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type.

Despite claiming to have been “electrocuted” prior to the murder, Ming stated she was in her right mind during the crime.

Ming, who has been in custody since the incident, may be eligible for parole in 25 years, but prosecutors believe that due to the heinous nature of the crime, a reduced sentence is unlikely.

Prosecutors Duncan Widmann and Luke McCowan explained that the plea agreement achieved the same outcome as a capital murder conviction, avoiding the risks associated with trials and appeals, especially in cases involving claims of insanity.

Ming’s attorney, Clay Thomas, expressed readiness for a trial but respected his client’s decision. He acknowledged that the ultimate choice lies with the client who must face the consequences of their actions.

In emotional victim impact statements, Martha and Marvin Moore, Ming’s parents, detailed the impact of their daughter’s absence on the family, particularly on her son, Conner, who referred to Ming as “Satan’s puppet.”

They revealed the years of harassment they endured from Ming, describing her as a “force of pure evil” living across the street.

Moore’s father confronted Ming during his testimony, labeling her a “cold-blooded murderer” and expressing his desire for her to spend the rest of her life in prison.
