Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that they would increase their airstrikes on targets in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine in response to recent statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ministry stated that Russian forces will escalate attacks on military installations, defense industry facilities, and associated infrastructure in Kyiv and across Ukraine.
In an interview with Reuters, Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine would retaliate by targeting Russian oil refineries following Moscow’s new policy of conducting airstrikes to pressure civilians to leave Kyiv and other urban areas. However, he emphasized that civilians would not be targeted.
Simultaneously, a fire erupted at an industrial site in Russia’s Krasnodar region due to a drone crashing into the site in the Temryuk district, according to regional authorities on Sunday. Three individuals sustained injuries and were undergoing medical treatment, while emergency response teams were present at the location.
