The Original Factory Shop recently enlisted the help of administrators from Interpath Advisory, placing 137 stores and 1,180 jobs in jeopardy. Despite this, the stores are operating as usual while administrators explore potential solutions for the business, although online operations have been halted. The retailer has been struggling with increased costs, including labor expenses, and a decline in customer spending. Complications with its third-party warehouse and logistics partner have further exacerbated its challenges. The company, established in 1969 and acquired by Modella Capital last year, has been a prominent fixture in local high streets across the nation. Rick Harrison, the managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, expressed the intention to work closely with the dedicated employees to maintain store operations and evaluate future options for the business.
