In a recent incident, Israeli airstrikes led to the deaths of at least 11 individuals in southern Lebanon, as reported by the country’s health ministry. This event marked the deadliest attack since a fragile ceasefire agreement was established in June to cease hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, although skirmishes persisted.
Residents and emergency responders in the area have accused Israeli forces of deliberately initiating wildfires that have ravaged homes, forests, and olive groves across the besieged region. The ongoing situation has instilled concerns among the local population regarding their ability to remain in the area and the likelihood of hundreds of thousands of war-displaced individuals ever being able to return.

An update to this report clarifies that an earlier edition incorrectly stated the involvement of Israel in a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2026 between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Israel was not a signatory to that agreement. The error has been rectified.
