Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices as the UK TV platform has introduced an update affecting the channel lineup and TV guide. According to Freeview, certain broadcasters are implementing changes this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four key changes. Three channels have been rebranded with new names, visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, featuring music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister and The Saint. That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.
Additionally, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will launch on Channel 75. Although program listings are not widely available yet, more details are expected soon.
Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to maintain diverse and up-to-date content offerings. Users with Freeview should see these changes reflected in the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (e.g., 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, prompting users to retune promptly.
