Eddie Hearn recently shared an update on Anthony Joshua, who has resumed training at the gym following a tragic car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

Despite the harrowing incident, Joshua sustained only minor injuries after miraculously changing seats before the journey. This week, the former heavyweight champion was seen back in action, wearing gloves in Dubai.

Hearn, Joshua’s longtime promoter at Matchroom Boxing, met with Joshua and posted on Instagram, praising his resilience. Hearn noted that Joshua is grateful for the support and love shown for his friends who passed away.

The future of Joshua’s boxing career remains uncertain after the accident. Hearn stated that Joshua would take a substantial break from the sport to recover and make decisions at his own pace.

Hearn emphasized the need to respect Joshua’s privacy and allow him time to heal from the traumatic event. He highlighted that Joshua will ultimately decide his future in boxing, and his voice should be the only one considered in that regard.

Joshua has not publicly addressed the speculations surrounding his boxing career. Instead, he shared a heartfelt tribute to his late friends on social media, expressing gratitude for their friendship and the impact they had on his life.

Legal proceedings against Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, the driver involved in the accident, are set to resume on Tuesday. Kayode faces charges related to the tragic incident.
