The daughter of a man from Scotland who experienced a heart attack while on a winter vacation in Turkey has expressed her hope for a miraculous recovery. Peter McMahon, a 52-year-old father of five from Glasgow, suffered cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday, with his heart ceasing to beat for 70 minutes. He had traveled to the Antalya resort on November 14 for a week-long holiday.
His concerned daughter, Teigan, has flown to Turkey to be with her father who is currently in a critical condition. She mentioned that he is being sustained by medical equipment and made an appeal for assistance. Teigan revealed that she received a distressing call informing her about her father’s ICU admission following a heart attack. She stated that while he had a minor heart attack a few months ago, this recent incident was much more severe, requiring CPR for over an hour, resulting in damage to his kidneys and necessitating dialysis.
Although Peter remains in a coma, he is capable of breathing independently. Teigan expressed her family’s prayers for his recovery, hoping for a miraculous outcome. Peter, who operates an auto body repair shop, had traveled without insurance.
Teigan has initiated a fundraiser to cover her father’s substantial medical expenses and facilitate his repatriation, managing to raise £2,000 within a short period. Stressing the urgency of the situation, she emphasized the importance of every donation to meet the escalating medical costs that exceed their financial capabilities. Teigan acknowledged the difficulty in seeking financial aid but emphasized her determination to do whatever it takes to ensure her father receives the best possible care.
