British curlers are expected to build on their success from 2022, where the women secured a gold medal. The team also boasts top skeleton athletes in world champion Matt Weston and his close friend Marcus Wyatt.
Key medal hopefuls include Mia Brookes, Kirsty Muir—Britain’s youngest athlete at Beijing 2022 at just 17—Zoe Atkin, and Charlotte Bankes, all vying for the chance to clinch the nation’s first Olympic gold or silver on snow.
The competition, running until Feb 22 with coverage on the BBC, will witness nearly 3,000 athletes from 90 countries competing for 116 medals at Milan-Cortina. Team GB is represented by 53 athletes, with Marcus Wyatt poised for success in the men’s skeleton event after securing World Championship silver last year.
Additionally, Matt Weston and Tabby Stoecker will team up for the mixed team event, while Brad Hall will compete in the men’s bobsleigh. Expectations are high for Team GB’s curlers, particularly for Mouat and Jennifer Dodds in the mixed team event. Team Morrison aims to defend the gold medal won by Muirhead’s women’s team in Beijing.
