A cutting-edge interceptor drone, symbolizing the bravery of the Ukrainian people, will be showcased in Downing Street. The drone, a gift from President Zelensky to Keir Starmer, is set to be deployed to the frontline in Ukraine.

Photographs released by No10 feature Starmer and Zelensky with the drone, alongside Downing Street’s famous cat, Larry. Starmer emphasized that the display of the Octopus drone in Downing Street would honor the courage of the Ukrainian people in defending their freedom from Russia’s brutal attacks.

The Octopus drone, a pioneering technology, arrived in the UK prior to its upcoming mass production later this year. Following a significant agreement between the PM and President Zelensky, battlefield technology is being shared between the two nations.

Interception drones, like the Octopus, offer a cost-effective defense against the continuous drone assaults launched by Russia on Ukrainian cities. These drones swiftly intercept incoming threats, destroying them before reaching their targets.

During his visit to the G20 summit in South Africa, the PM is expected to address ways to pressure Putin to cease atrocities in Ukraine. Starmer will engage with Indo Pacific and African leaders to advocate for increased support for Ukraine, emphasizing the need to reduce reliance on Russian energy and disrupt finance to Putin’s war efforts.

Defence Secretary John Healey issued a warning to Putin after a Russian spy ship aimed lasers at RAF pilots on the edge of UK waters. Healey condemned Russia’s actions and stated that the UK is prepared with military responses if the situation escalates. This incident marks the spy ship’s second entry into British waters to monitor critical undersea cables.
