The United Kingdom is bracing for snow as a cold spell sweeps through the nation later this month. Following the havoc caused by Storm Amy at the start of October, more turbulent weather is predicted to arrive.

Weather forecasts from WXCharts indicate that certain regions of the UK will be covered in snow before the end of October. Perth and Inverness in Scotland are expected to see snowfall initially, with the weather system then moving north and west to impact Ross and Cromarty.

The areas at risk include Perthshire, Invernessshire, Ross County, and Cromartyshire according to projections by WX Charts, corroborated by Ventusky. The Met Office’s outlook from October 18 to November 1 suggests a shift towards unsettled conditions in the latter part of October, with the possibility of frequent rain, showers, and strong winds.

As the week progresses, winds are expected to calm down with some sunshine in southern and eastern regions, while showers may develop in the west. Overnight, rain is forecast for the north, with drier conditions prevailing elsewhere. Monday is predicted to be wet and windy in the northwest but mostly dry with sunny intervals in other areas. Rain is anticipated to move southeast on Tuesday, followed by drier weather and sunny spells as high pressure builds up.
