Parts of the UK are expected to experience heavy snowfall in the coming weeks, with up to 10cm of snow per hour forecasted. Weather maps indicate that wet and icy conditions will affect various regions between November 13 and November 17.

On November 13, significant rainfall is predicted to move across Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of northern England, particularly around Newcastle. In Scotland, areas such as Inverness and Aberdeen may see snowfall at rates of up to 5cm per hour, while Edinburgh could experience a mix of sleet and wet snow. Southern regions are likely to remain dry during this period.

As we move into November 14, some parts of the Scottish Highlands are expected to receive a few centimeters of snow, while areas like Aberdeen and Edinburgh will see rain. Wet weather is also forecasted for locations such as Newcastle, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Plymouth, although London is anticipated to avoid heavy rainfall.

By November 15, heavy rain and strong winds are set to affect many parts of the country, with Northern Ireland and northern England bracing for downpours. The Highlands in Scotland might experience wintry conditions, including snow on higher ground, while southern regions like London, Birmingham, and Cardiff are likely to have milder weather.

On November 16, the Highlands may see minimal snowfall as icy conditions move towards Liverpool and Manchester. The most substantial snowfall is projected for November 17, with rates of 8 to 10cm per hour expected in Northern Ireland and parts of southern and central Scotland. Northern England, particularly areas near Newcastle, could also be impacted by the wintry weather.

The Met Office’s extended weather forecast from November 12 to 21 suggests a predominantly unsettled and mild start to the period, with rainy spells across the UK. Towards mid-November, drier weather is anticipated, accompanied by cooler temperatures and an increased risk of frost overnight.
