Locals in central Stockholm were shocked by a tragic incident when a bus collided with a bus stop, causing chaos and multiple casualties. The collision took place in Östermalm, resulting in a significant number of injuries and fatalities. Police responded to the scene promptly after receiving reports of the crash around 3:24 pm.

Law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the area, deploying numerous police vehicles and ambulances to assist the injured individuals. Emergency services worked diligently to aid the victims, confirming several fatalities. Witnesses recounted hearing a loud bang and screams, describing the scene as chaotic with people lying on the ground.

One witness, Michelle Mac Key, described the aftermath as she disembarked from another bus, witnessing the double-decker bus crashing into the bus stop. She expressed feeling shaken by the incident and noted the police questioning witnesses. Authorities later confirmed the number of injuries, with five individuals affected, two of whom sustained serious injuries.

The bus involved in the collision was not carrying passengers and was out of service at the time. The driver of the bus was arrested on suspicion of aggravated manslaughter, although the incident was not considered a terrorist attack. Police refrained from disclosing further details about the victims, emphasizing the ongoing investigation.
