A sudden closure occurred at a school in south west London this morning following a fatality, prompting a significant police and ambulance presence.

Students were dismissed from Teddington School shortly before 9am, leaving parents anxiously awaiting information about the closure without any official explanation provided by the school.

According to a spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service, emergency services responded to a medical incident on Broom Road in Teddington at 7.17am. Despite efforts to save the individual involved, the person tragically passed away on site. The Metropolitan Police indicated that the ambulance service is taking the lead in managing the situation, categorized as a ‘medical emergency.’

A concerned parent shared the incident on social media, stating that the school was closed with a visible presence of police and ambulances but no clear details were disclosed. Numerous emergency vehicles were reported outside the school, preventing access, and all students were sent home early in the day.

Teddington School, situated in the Richmond upon Thames borough, caters to students aged 11 and above, offering co-educational state education along with a sixth form. Mirror Online has reached out to the school for comments and additional information.
