Teva Canada has issued a recall for specific Teva-Pregabalin 150 mg capsules due to potential contamination with sertraline, as revealed during routine testing. The affected lots are identified as 100070495 and 100068913, initially distributed in Canada in September 2025 with an expiry date of July 31, 2027.
According to Health Canada’s recall notice, individuals with hypersensitivity or allergies to sertraline may experience adverse effects or severe allergic reactions, including potentially fatal anaphylactic reactions, even with minimal exposure. The agency advises individuals in possession of products from the aforementioned lots to promptly return them to a pharmacy.
Pregabalin is a prescribed medication for managing nerve damage-induced pain, while sertraline is used to alleviate symptoms of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorders. Teva Canada, headquartered in Toronto, stated in its recall notice that the recall is a precautionary step.
