Team Europe reportedly ran up a £230,000 tab while celebrating their Ryder Cup triumph in New York. The group, including players, support staff, and their families, doused the Bethpage Black golf course with champagne after defeating the U.S. team. The revelry continued as they enjoyed beverages on the bus ride back, singing along to music.

Shane Lowry humorously admitted to a potential hangover on social media, providing a glimpse into the night’s festivities. According to The Sun, the group splurged on £116,000 worth of Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial champagne and £74,000 on Moët MCIII and Moët Rose Champagne. Additionally, they spent £18,000 on Belvedere Vodka and over £22,000 on limited-edition Hennessy 250th Anniversary cognac, with an exclusive offer of Hennessy Richard Lunar New Year 2025 cognac for the players.

During a press conference, discussions arose about the leader in strokes gained, with Sepp Straka emerging as the unanimous choice among the players. Light-hearted banter ensued among the team members, with Rory McIlroy playfully pointing out Justin Rose as the “dark horse” of the group.

In response to the rowdy behavior exhibited towards the European players during the tournament, Lowry expressed his disapproval of the lack of respect and decorum on the course. McIlroy and his wife faced unwarranted abuse from spectators, prompting McIlroy to emphasize the need for higher standards of behavior in golf.

Amid the celebrations, the team teased American president Donald Trump with a rendition of “Are you watching Donald Trump?” captured in a video shared by McIlroy. Trump responded on social media, acknowledging the jest in good spirits.

The evening continued with a festive atmosphere as the team sang and enjoyed their victory on the coach ride back to the hotel.
