Rather than receiving the official posters, Landon’s manager requested him to create a replacement poster in the style of the internet meme character Spooderman. Despite being able to draw the actual Spider-Man, Landon opted to sketch Spooderman, aligning it with the design of “Brand New Day.”
Accompanying his hand-drawn poster, Landon included a simple message apologizing for the absence of the real posters and any inconvenience caused. This unique approach caught the attention of movie-goers like Adam Woodrow and his son Rogan, who photographed Landon beside his creation and shared it on local community platforms.
The Spooderman poster quickly gained online popularity, amassing thousands of likes across various platforms, including the Marvel Studios subreddit with over 54,000 upvotes. Encouraged by the positive feedback, some have suggested that Landon should create more movie posters or sell his Spooderman drawings, although he personally enjoys drawing robots, intricate machines, and weapons in his leisure time.
While Landon remains humble about the recognition, his father, Craig Landon, is proud of his son’s creativity and the acclaim he is receiving. Despite Cineplex’s decision to replace Landon’s artwork with the official “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” poster, they plan to find a new spot within the theater to display his hand-drawn rendition.
