Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as the new HBO Max streaming service has been launched, offering a range of popular shows and movies at no extra cost. Subscribers with the Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy top titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more without the usual monthly fee of £4.99, saving over £50.
Sky confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate packages will have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. The service, known for its vast collection of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, has finally made its way across the pond.
To start streaming, Sky Ultimate TV customers can simply launch the HBO Max app and follow the on-screen instructions to activate it. For those not already on the Ultimate TV plan, switching to it for £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st) will grant access to over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, providing a comprehensive entertainment experience. NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max at no additional charge.
For non-Sky subscribers, signing up for HBO Max directly on the website is an option, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99. The availability of HBO Max through various platforms marks a significant step in offering diversified entertainment options to viewers.
