Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat with the introduction of a new feature called Device Priority. This upgrade allows users to control the internet speeds allocated to each of their devices, enhancing their online experience.
With Device Priority, customers can ensure that their important tasks, like Zoom calls, receive optimal speeds even when other devices, such as gaming consoles, are active on the network. Sky emphasizes that prioritizing devices for activities like wearable tech, home appliances, remote work, 4K streaming, or gaming can maximize WiFi performance.
In response to the growing number of connected devices in homes, Sky’s Device Priority feature aims to alleviate network congestion. By creating a fast lane for designated devices, conflicts over bandwidth can be minimized, leading to a smoother online experience for users.
The Device Priority feature is available to Sky customers subscribed to the WiFi Max service at no additional cost. Users can access this feature through the MySky App, where they can prioritize a device for up to 8 hours.
This enhancement joins other features of Sky Broadband’s WiFi Max service, including the WiFi guarantee, advanced security, parental controls, engineer visits, and Sky Mobile integration. For those interested in adding the Device Priority feature, it can be included for a monthly fee of £4.
Overall, the Device Priority upgrade by Sky offers users greater control over their internet experience, ensuring that their devices receive the necessary bandwidth for optimal performance.
