An urgent search is underway for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted multiple women while they were exercising along the seafront. Authorities have released footage of the individual they seek to question regarding the incidents that occurred in Hove Lawns, East Sussex, and the surrounding areas. The suspect, described by Sussex Police as bald and in his 40s, is believed to have a Spanish or Italian accent and is often seen in workout attire.

The man reportedly engaged with the victims, who were either resting or finishing their exercise, during the early hours between 4:30 am and 9:30 am. Allegedly, he sexually assaulted them over their clothing. Police have connected recent incidents to reports from the previous year and 2023, where a suspect was arrested and subsequently released without further action.

Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen emphasized that public safety is the top priority for law enforcement and an investigation is currently in progress. Additional patrols have been deployed along the seafront to enhance the safety of women in the area. Authorities urge anyone with information on the incidents or who recognizes the suspect to come forward promptly.

Furthermore, police are in communication with the victims, and Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen assured that there is no indication of an escalated risk to women on the seafront. The full statement from Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen emphasized the focus on public safety and collaborative efforts to safeguard women and girls in the community. The public is encouraged to report any relevant information or sightings of the suspect to aid the investigation, referencing Operation August when contacting the authorities.
