A prominent Russian official has raised fresh concerns about the possibility of World War Three by issuing new threats against Britain. Dmitry Rogozin, a senator and former deputy premier and space agency chief, has warned that multiple British defense-related sites are at risk of being targeted. He has identified over 20 locations in the UK that could potentially be subjected to attacks.

In a recent development, Rogozin disclosed a map outlining 23 defense sites, including military and industrial installations spread across all four nations of the UK. The map was sourced from the UK government’s policy document ‘Defence Industrial Strategy 2025: Making Defence an Engine for Growth’. This alarming statement follows a call by former British defense secretary Ben Wallace to make Crimea uninhabitable from a Russian perspective.

Vladimir Solovyov, a propagandist known for his Kremlin-scripted TV broadcasts, echoed Rogozin’s threats towards Britain. While the likelihood of Russia carrying out such actions remains low, the recent warnings have left Britons contemplating the potential consequences of a nuclear strike and considering survival strategies.

Dr. Arnab Basu, CEO of Kromek Group plc, advised that in the event of a nuclear strike on a UK city, residents may receive a warning. He recommended seeking shelter promptly, sealing windows and doors to reduce exposure to radioactive dust, and storing water as supplies could be contaminated post-explosion. Dr. Basu emphasized the importance of staying indoors for a few days to shield oneself from fallout and rely on available resources until radiation levels subside.

Experts suggest that during a nuclear blast, seeking refuge in the central part of a building or a basement is crucial for protection. However, concerns have been raised about the adequacy of London’s underground network to withstand modern nuclear weapons, potentially necessitating evacuation to areas outside blast zones for survival.

Understanding the reach of nuclear blasts involves considering various factors such as radiation, fireball, air blast, and thermal radiation radius. Property researchers have identified locations outside major UK cities that could offer relative safety in case of a nuclear attack. While some of these areas may still be exposed to radiation via winds, remote places like Foula in the Shetland Isles could be among the safest in the UK during such a scenario.
