Another prisoner from HMP Wandsworth is believed to have fled while on temporary bail to attend his brother’s wedding. The individual, identified as Sean Middleborough, 32, did not return to the prison as required, prompting a search operation. Middleborough was awaiting trial on charges related to aggravated burglary, criminal damage, and violent disorder at the Elbit Systems UK facility in August of the previous year, as per the Crown Prosecution Service.

A government representative emphasized that bail decisions are determined by judges independently of the government and fleeing while on bail is a serious offense that can result in extended imprisonment. Authorities are actively pursuing the fugitive, urging anyone with relevant information to contact the police.

This incident follows the mistaken release of two other inmates from the same correctional facility. One of them, Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, a 24-year-old sex offender, was erroneously released on October 29 but was later apprehended on November 7. The second individual, William ‘Billy’ Smith, a convicted fraudster, was also mistakenly released on November 3, prompting a public appeal by the police before he voluntarily surrendered himself back into custody.
