Prince George made his debut appearance at the Festival of Remembrance in London, joining the Princess of Wales, the King, and Queen at the Royal Albert Hall. The Royal Family, accompanied by prominent figures like Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria Starmer, were welcomed with trumpets before taking their seats in the royal box for the annual event broadcasted on BBC One.

The festival marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 25th anniversary of the UK’s decision to allow gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals to openly serve in the armed forces.

Notable performances by artists like Sir Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder, Keala Settle, and military bands added to the solemn atmosphere. Attendees included veterans with experiences ranging from D-Day planning to surviving wartime adversities. The event was hosted by Hannah Waddingham, who honored her grandfather, a veteran, with a heartfelt performance.

The absence of the Prince of Wales, who was returning from the COP30 UN Climate Change summit, was noted. The King is scheduled to lead the nation in a two-minute silence at the upcoming National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

As the event concluded, the King, Kate Middleton, and Prince George graciously acknowledged the audience. Kate Middleton’s attire, a black dress by Alessandra Rich adorned with a handmade poppy and accessories once belonging to the late Queen, garnered attention. The Princess of Wales was observed engaging with Prince George during the proceedings. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also present at the event, which will culminate with the King’s leadership in the national moment of silence on the following day.
