Pregnant drug mule Bella Culley, who had been enduring a challenging time in a Georgian prison, recently reunited with her family. Bella, 19, was released from a secure facility in Tbilisi and returned to the UK alongside her mother, Lyanne Kennedy. Upon her arrival at her family home in Billingham, Teesside, there was a welcoming display of cars and balloons awaiting her. Bella, in her eighth month of pregnancy, flew back to the UK through Luton Airport early on Wednesday.

Expressing her eagerness to rest in her own bed, Bella enjoyed a lie-in before being greeted by her relatives. The excitement was palpable as family members, including her brother Billy, eagerly anticipated her return. A neighbor remarked on the emotional turmoil the family had endured due to Bella’s unexpected predicament.

Lyanne Kennedy shared her anxieties about potentially missing the birth of her first grandchild if Bella had served her full sentence. Bella, looking ahead, expressed her desire to resume her nursing studies after giving birth to her baby boy, conceived while on a holiday in southeast Asia and expected to arrive next month.

In court, Bella detailed the harrowing experience of being coerced into carrying drugs and undergoing torture. Thanks to a plea deal, she was released promptly instead of serving a two-year term. Lyanne and Niel, Bella’s devoted parents, raised substantial funds to settle court fees following her attempt to smuggle marijuana and hashish into Georgia. Bella was later transferred to a specialized mother and baby unit after enduring a challenging initial period during her six-month incarceration.
