Jessica Ennis-Hill, an Olympic champion residing in Sheffield, is set to participate in Kevin Sinfield’s fundraising event for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Sheffield. Sinfield, who commenced his ‘7 in 7 Together’ challenge on Monday, aims to complete an ultra marathon each day for a week. This marks Sinfield’s sixth annual initiative in support of MND charities, having raised over £10 million so far, contributing to the establishment of a groundbreaking center in Leeds.

The inspiration behind Sinfield’s philanthropic endeavors stems from his former teammate Rob Burrow’s MND diagnosis. Ennis-Hill, a renowned athlete with Olympic gold and three world championship titles, will be lending her support to Sinfield’s cause, enhancing awareness about MND. Since retiring from athletics in 2016, Ennis-Hill has been actively involved in charity work, serving as a patron for various organizations.

Sinfield’s determination to combat MND remains unwavering, especially after learning about England World Cup winner Lewis Moody’s recent MND diagnosis. Moody, also engaged in fundraising activities, plans to host a charity dinner and organize a charity bike ride in 2026. Following the Sheffield leg of the challenge, Sinfield will continue through Cumbria, Scotland, before concluding in Leeds on Sunday.
