Moses Itauma showcased his dominance in the heavyweight division by swiftly defeating Dillian Whyte in less than two minutes. Itauma, known as a rising star in British boxing, now carries the hopes of the nation following recent setbacks for Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, and Anthony Joshua. Despite being anticipated to face a tougher opponent in Whyte, Itauma, who has stopped 10 of his last 12 rivals, wasted no time asserting his dominance with his speed and precision.

The 20-year-old unleashed a left hook, a move reminiscent of Whyte’s own past successes, to set up the finishing blows that sent Whyte to the mat. Although Whyte managed to beat the count, his unsteady stance prompted the referee to halt the fight. Prior to the match, Whyte had delayed his entry into the ring, testing Itauma’s patience, but the young boxer remained focused and determined throughout the bout.

Itauma’s impressive victory could potentially lead to a shot at the world title against Joseph Parker if current titleholder Oleksandr Usyk decides against facing Parker and is stripped of his WBO belt. When asked about his championship aspirations, Itauma expressed confidence in his abilities, stating his readiness to take on any opponent. With his sights set on bigger challenges, Itauma emphasized his youth and long-term prospects in the sport.

In other fights on the card, Nick Ball successfully defended his featherweight world title in a thrilling contest against Sam Goodman, showcasing resilience in the later rounds. David Adeleye faced a tough defeat against Filip Hrgovic in a heavyweight bout marked by Hrgovic’s recovery from a severe cut and Adeleye’s resilient performance. Raymond Ford, a former featherweight world champion, continued his winning streak at super-featherweight, while Mohammed Alakel and Hayato Tsutsumi secured victories in their respective matches.
