Lando Norris rushed to embrace his stunning girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, following his triumph as Formula 1 champion. The British racer was seen sharing kisses and hugs with the Portuguese model amidst the cheering crowds before heading to the podium to celebrate his victory over Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Norris secured the title by finishing third at the Yas Marina Circuit, maintaining his 12-point lead over Verstappen. Despite briefly relinquishing second place to his teammate Piastri early in the race, Norris held his ground to clinch the championship.
Charles Leclerc posed a late threat to Norris, narrowing the gap, but the Ferrari driver’s pace waned, allowing Norris a clear path to the checkered flag and the title. Overwhelmed with emotion, Norris expressed his gratitude over the radio, thanking his team and family before breaking into tears of joy.
After exiting his car, Norris embraced his parents and shared an emotional moment with his girlfriend, Corceiro, who publicly confirmed their rekindled relationship earlier in the season. Corceiro, a familiar face in the public eye, has drawn increased attention as a result of her partnership with an F1 driver.
Following the Singapore Grand Prix, where partners of drivers were prominently featured on screen during the broadcast, Norris’ former teammate Carlos Sainz criticized the focus on WAGs, calling for a balance between showcasing personal moments and respecting the competition.
Corceiro addressed the spotlight on partners, stating, “I don’t seek out the cameras. If they capture me, they capture me. Sometimes I’m not even aware of being filmed.”
Tears continued to flow as Norris reflected on his accomplishment, expressing gratitude to his McLaren team, family, and competitors. He acknowledged the challenges posed by Verstappen and Piastri throughout the season but emphasized his pride in achieving success and contributing to McLaren after nine years with the team.
