Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of John F Kennedy, has shared heartbreaking news about her health. She disclosed that she has been diagnosed with terminal blood cancer, specifically myeloid leukemia, shortly after giving birth to her daughter last year. In a recent article in the New Yorker magazine, Tatiana revealed that her doctor discovered the concerning white blood cell count irregularity in May 2024.
The 35-year-old, whose parents are Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, expressed her shock at the diagnosis as she considered herself one of the healthiest individuals she knew, with no prior symptoms of illness. Despite undergoing two bone-marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and blood transfusions, along with participating in a clinical trial for CAR-T-cell therapy, she has been informed that she has less than a year left to live due to the rare mutation Inversion 3 that she carries.
Tatiana also opened up about the emotional toll her diagnosis has taken on her family, especially her mother. She reflected on the guilt she feels for adding another tragedy to her family’s history, known for the so-called Kennedy Curse, which has been associated with numerous misfortunes and untimely deaths among prominent family members over the years.
She further criticized her second cousin, RFK Jr, for his stance on cancer funding and vaccine skepticism, calling him an embarrassment to the family. Tatiana highlighted the impact of his decisions on medical research and treatments, particularly concerning her own battle with cancer.
