Jake Paul has announced that a special tribute will be made to the late friends of Anthony Joshua during the Amanda Serrano vs. Danila Tellez event tonight. Most Valuable Promotions, the company owned by the former YouTuber who turned to boxing, has honored the memory of Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami by featuring their names prominently in the ring. The two individuals tragically lost their lives in a recent car accident in Nigeria, while Joshua narrowly escaped with minor injuries.

Following a controversial match with Paul, Joshua traveled to Nigeria, where the fatal accident occurred. The collision, between the SUV carrying Joshua and his friends and a stationary truck near Makun on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun state, resulted in the loss of Ayodele and Ghami’s lives.

In preparation for Saturday night’s event in Puerto Rico, Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian have ensured that Ayodele and Ghami are remembered and honored. Paul, who sustained injuries, including a broken jaw, during the fight with Joshua, expressed his condolences and support on social media.

Joshua has been discharged from the hospital and has returned to the United Kingdom prior to his friends’ funeral. A mosque in London is organizing a ceremony for the late friends, with a ‘janaza prayer service’ for family and friends to pay their respects. Despite being unsure whether to attend the funeral, there are concerns that Joshua’s presence could draw unwanted attention.

Reports indicate that Joshua narrowly avoided the tragic fate of his friends by switching seats just before the fatal journey. The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, though he has pleaded not guilty, claiming the brakes failed during the incident.

Kayode’s lawyer, Olalekan Abiodun, stated that Joshua initially sat in the front seat but was asked to move due to visibility issues, leading to the fatal seating arrangement. The case has been adjourned for trial in January.
