A popular figure in the fashion world, known as Junior Dutra on Instagram, has tragically passed away following complications from a cosmetic surgery procedure known as the ‘fox eye’ lift.
Adair Mendes Dutra Junior fell ill and experienced severe breathing difficulties, leading to his admission to a local hospital where he eventually succumbed to his condition. The 31-year-old had been pursuing legal action against his surgeon, Fernando Garbi, claiming that a wound from the procedure had become infected.
Junior underwent the ‘fox eye’ surgery in March, sharing images of his post-operative swollen face with noticeable bruising. This cosmetic procedure aims to create a distinctive cat-like appearance by lifting the eye corners.
The ‘fox eye’ lift can be achieved through non-invasive methods like thread lifts and Botox, or more invasive techniques such as blepharoplasty and canthoplasty for a permanent transformation.
Following his sudden deterioration on October 3, Junior passed away at a nearby hospital, as confirmed by his close friend Gean Souza to a Brazilian publication. Concerns about infectious reactions and discomfort post-surgery had been escalating, with Junior seeking medical attention from a dermatologist.
In response to his ordeal, Junior had reached out to São Paulo authorities to investigate Garbi and had initiated legal proceedings against the surgeon for alleged malpractice, fraud, and bodily harm.
Garbi’s legal team has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, dismissing any connection between the surgery and Junior’s demise. They have vowed to take legal action against those spreading false accusations.
The controversial ‘fox eye’ procedure, also known as canthoplasty or canthopexy, has gained traction, especially on social media platforms, as per data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Seeking justice for his departed friend, Souza emphasized Junior’s unfulfilled aspirations and desire to reconnect with his family and explore opportunities abroad.
