Another individual fell victim to a shooting incident involving ICE agents in Minneapolis, adding to the city’s distress. The government swiftly attempted to shift blame onto Joe Biden following the tragic event.

Recent reports detailed an incident where a man was shot in the leg by an ICE agent in the northern part of the city. This occurred shortly after Renee Good, a mother of three, was fatally shot in the head. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that the man attempted to evade a targeted traffic stop, crashed his vehicle, and then fled on foot. According to official reports, two individuals allegedly attacked the ICE agent with a snow shovel and broom handle, leading to the agent shooting the man in the leg out of fear for his safety.

In an apparent effort to shift focus, the DHS, under the leadership of Trump ally Kristi Noem, attempted to implicate the former President, who has been undergoing cancer treatment, in the unrest within the city.

The DHS statement following the shooting highlighted that federal law enforcement officers were conducting a traffic stop on an individual released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022. The mention of Biden’s name in the statement was unexpected, and the continued efforts by Trump to deflect blame onto the former President, who has been out of the political scene for a year, have been cringe-worthy.

The Trump administration has also targeted the Democrat governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, and the Democrat mayor, Jacob Frey, following the recent shootings involving federal agents in Minneapolis. The DHS criticized the leaders for allegedly encouraging resistance against ICE and federal law enforcement officers, stating that such rhetoric and resistance must cease due to the increased assaults faced by federal law enforcement officers.

US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche went as far as labeling the governor and mayor’s actions as “terrorism,” focusing on the Democrat leaders rather than addressing the actions of the ICE agents. Mayor Frey pushed back against intimidation from Washington, condemning ICE for causing chaos in Minnesota.

Protests erupted following the tragic death of Renee Good, with accusations from Trump and supporters branding her as a “domestic terrorist.” However, bodycam footage released later cast doubt on these claims. Subsequent protests following another shooting incident saw federal agents using tear gas and pepper balls against frustrated locals who oppose the presence and actions of immigration agents in their city.

The aggressive response to protesters and attempts to blame Joe Biden for the ongoing turmoil in the city demonstrate the politicization of tragic events by Trump and his supporters.
