A dying woman sought help from neighbors after being stabbed by her boyfriend during a violent altercation at her residence in Knowsley, Merseyside. Rebekah Campbell, 32, succumbed to injuries sustained from the brutal attack, where she disclosed to her rescuers that “my fella stabbed me” before collapsing outside her apartment building, her clothing drenched in blood.

Michael Ormandy, Campbell’s partner, faced trial at Liverpool Crown Court, charged with her murder. He refuted the accusation, asserting self-defense as his motive during the tragic incident.

Following Campbell’s demise, Ormandy was swiftly apprehended on a canal towpath near Litherland, Merseyside, throwing his phone into the water. His statement to investigators implied a sense of blame towards authorities for the tragic outcome.

During the trial’s opening, prosecutor David McLachlan KC narrated the events leading to Campbell’s death on April 15, 2025, emphasizing the fatal stabbing perpetrated by Ormandy in their Huyton flat. Campbell’s friend, Faye Henderson, who was on a call with her during the incident, heard distressing sounds before contacting emergency services.

Campbell was found outside her flat with severe stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where she eventually passed away early the next day. The post-mortem examination revealed 27 incised wounds, primarily concentrated on her left side, resulting in her cause of death being attributed to chest stab wounds.

McLachlan asserted the prosecution’s stance that Ormandy deliberately attacked Campbell, leading to her untimely demise, despite Ormandy’s claims of acting in self-defense and lacking intent to cause fatal harm. The case continued with the prosecution arguing against Ormandy’s justifications, pointing to the evidence indicating premeditated murder.

The legal proceedings are ongoing.
