Elon Musk has been accused of criminal behavior for neglecting child safety online, as stated by Keir Starmer. Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, is urging for the world’s wealthiest individual to face MPs for his remarks at a rally organized by Tommy Robinson, hinting at impending violence in the UK.

In an interview with Sky News’ Sir Trevor Phillips, Musk, the owner of social media platform X, was questioned about his criminality, to which he responded affirmatively. Musk’s actions, including inciting violence and promoting civil unrest, were highlighted as reasons for his alleged criminal behavior. Moreover, concerns were raised about harmful content on his platform, such as promoting self-harm, grooming, and child exploitation, for which accountability is being demanded.

Recently, Musk’s participation in the Unite the Kingdom rally, hosted by far-right figure Tommy Robinson, drew criticism for his statements urging the audience to “fight back” against perceived threats. Sir Ed is expected to address the issue at the party conference, emphasizing Musk’s motives as driven by ego and power rather than genuine concern for democracy or freedom of speech.

The Liberal Democrat leader is pushing for an Ofcom investigation into Musk’s platform, X, and personal accountability for non-compliance with the Online Safety Act. A social media dispute ensued between Sir Ed and Musk, with accusations of inciting violence leading to a heated exchange between the two.

In response to the controversy, Sir Ed mocked Musk with a meme image of SpongeBob SquarePants, symbolizing his stance on the matter. The Liberal Democrats are planning to introduce a motion in Parliament upon its return, aiming to summon Musk before MPs to answer for his conduct at the rally.

This parliamentary procedure, rarely used, would require Musk to appear at the House of Commons’ bar for public reprimand, a power not exercised since 1957 on a non-MP.
