Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who has faced disgrace, received a delivery of champagne at Royal Lodge as he gets ready to be evicted in a few weeks.
The former royal, who has been stripped of his titles, including prince, will soon have to leave his expansive 30-room mansion, where he has resided for more than 20 years with minimal rent payments. This decision follows public outrage over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and allegations of engaging in sexual activity with Virginia Giuffre when she was underage. Andrew maintains his denial of all accusations against him.
A van arrived at the Windsor estate carrying six bottles of Devaux champagne priced at £35 each.
The driver handed the box of champagne bottles to a staff member at the gates on Friday. Despite being a teetotaler and abstaining from alcohol since his teenage years, the ex-prince received the delivery.
At present, Royal Lodge remains the residence for Andrew, his former spouse Sarah Ferguson, and their staff until they are eventually ousted in a few weeks.
According to a source cited by The Sun, a worker collected the delivered champagne at a side entrance, prompting discussions about the appropriateness of such a delivery considering the circumstances.
Insiders suggest that Andrew and Fergie lead separate lives within the mansion as they prepare for their upcoming relocation. Allegedly, Fergie spends much of her time near a bar built behind the Windsor residence, confiding in and seeking solace from the staff.
The pair reportedly only convene for meals, during which they discuss their divergent future plans. Andrew is anticipated to move to the private Sandringham Estate, with the expenses covered by the King’s personal finances.
This relocation, slated to occur post-December, is delayed due to the intricate process of vacating the current residence. The Sandringham Estate in Norfolk traditionally hosts the royal family for Christmas, hence the delay avoids any potential encounters with Andrew during the festive season.
Some reports suggest that Fergie, in a state of desperation, may consider relocating abroad. A source, as per the MailOnline, mentioned that Sarah feels like she has limited options remaining.
The source stated: “With few ties binding her except her family, Sarah is contemplating a potential move overseas. She finds herself suddenly devoid of invitations and opportunities in the UK.”
