A daughter is haunted by the memory of her father’s sudden death during a pirate-themed boat party trip, expressing concerns about potential future tragedies abroad. Nakita Colville, 27, from Woking, Surrey, was part of a group of 600 guests enjoying a ‘luxury pirate ship’ excursion when the unfortunate incident occurred. Her father, Peter Colville, went missing after entering the sea at the second swimming spot and was later discovered unconscious in the waters of Turkey.
Witnessing her father turning “purple,” Nakita and her sister, along with other guests, hurriedly pulled him out of the water. Despite the urgency of the situation, the boat’s staff allegedly remained passive, failing to assist with CPR and continuing the festivities without seeking immediate help. The vessel, named Legend Big Kral, boasted six decks and featured foam parties and entertainment. Nakita noted that her safety-conscious father found it odd that the staff did not verify guest details upon boarding the boat.
Peter, a father of six and grandfather of seven, was known for his snorkeling skills and swimming proficiency. Nakita was shocked to hear commotion at the second swimming spot and witnessed the distressing sight of her father being rescued from the water. Despite his apparent good health, Peter’s sudden tragedy left the family perplexed. After the coastguard’s arrival and subsequent hospitalization, Peter was tragically pronounced dead, leading Nakita to discover that the party on the boat continued unabated despite the heartbreaking event.
Reviews following the incident criticized the crew’s handling of the situation, describing it as inadequate and lacking professionalism. Despite postmortem examinations conducted in both the UK and Turkey, the cause of Peter’s death remains unknown, prompting an ongoing investigation. Nakita expressed concerns about the lack of regulations on party boats abroad, warning of potential future fatalities unless significant changes are implemented.
