Staff members at a well-known café are extremely upset following a customer’s inappropriate “special request.” A team member from Acanteen in Chelmsford, Essex, expressed her anger on Instagram about the situation. She shared that she had received a booking request with a disturbing special request from a customer, which she found to be offensive and racist. She made it clear that such behavior is unwelcome at Acanteen and likely not accepted in Chelmsford either.

The Instagram post came with a warning that the content might be distressing to some guests and team members. The café has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, harassment, racism, sexism, or any form of hateful conduct. They value different opinions but will not tolerate behavior that upsets others. The post emphasized their commitment to inclusivity and love for their team and community.

A Canteen updated in the comments that they have reported the incident to STOP HATE UK, who will bring it to the attention of Essex Police. The comments section was flooded with supportive messages from loyal customers, praising the café for speaking out against such behavior and for fostering a welcoming environment for all.

The Mirror has reached out to Essex Police for a comment on the matter.
