A woman, identified as Nicolette Goldrick, stirred fear and panic when she brazenly attempted to abduct a seven-month-old baby from a pram outside an ice cream shop. The incident took place on Central Drive in Blackpool. The mother of the baby, who was inside the shop, noticed Goldrick tampering with the pram and immediately reacted by shouting and chasing after her.
In a shocking turn of events captured on video, Goldrick, wearing a mask, casually pushed the pram down the street while glancing back at the shop multiple times. The mother, along with another woman, rushed out of the shop to confront Goldrick, who eventually turned the pram around.
Following the failed abduction, Goldrick walked away from the scene but was later apprehended by authorities after returning to the vicinity of the shop. During her arrest, she verbally abused the officers and even spat at one of them. Goldrick admitted to the child abduction and assaulting an emergency worker charges in court.
At the sentencing, the parents expressed the traumatic impact of the incident, labeling it as the “worst day of their lives.” The court sentenced Goldrick to 12 months in prison and imposed a five-year restraining order on her. The Crown Prosecution Service North West condemned Goldrick’s actions, emphasizing the terror she caused and the lack of remorse shown during her arrest.
Fortunately, the baby was unharmed during the frightening incident near Coral Island amusements in town.
