Apple has officially launched the iOS 27 public beta, allowing iPhone users to test the upcoming software upgrade ahead of its September release. Interested users can sign up on Apple’s Software Beta Program site to try out the new features.
One of the major enhancements in iOS 27 is the significant upgrade to Siri, making the smart assistant more efficient in finding information, responding to messages, and handling complex requests. The update also introduces a Visual Intelligence mode in the Camera app for instant information retrieval by pointing the iPhone at objects.
iOS 27 promises improved speed across older iPhone models, with apps launching up to 30% faster, quicker photo loading, and up to 80% faster AirDrop transfers. Users can now customize the transparency of the interface with a new transparency slider and benefit from refreshed app icons and enhanced photo-editing tools.
Additionally, iOS 27 enhances connectivity by seamlessly switching between Wi-Fi and 4G or 5G networks, ensuring a reliable connection for users on the move. AirPods users will also enjoy more control over their listening experience with a new AirPods Custom EQ feature.
The update is compatible with a range of iPhone models, including the latest releases and older versions like the iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). To access the iOS 27 beta, users can enroll in the Apple Beta Software Program and update to iOS 27 Public Beta through the Settings app. It’s important to note that reverting to a previous iOS version after installing iOS 27 may require a full factory reset, so backing up data is recommended.
