Apple has introduced a new software update geared towards enhancing creativity for a wider audience. The tech giant from the US is rolling out a fresh platform named Creative Studio, enabling MacBook and iPad users to access top-tier software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service grants full access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music production, and Pixelmator Pro as an Adobe Photoshop alternative.
Upon its upcoming launch, Apple users will be charged £12.99 per month or £129 annually for the service, delivering exceptional value given the inclusive software offerings.
Individually, Final Cut Pro is priced at £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro costs £200. By transitioning to a subscription model, Apple aims to democratize access to these tools.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, remarked, “Apple Creator Studio is a valuable offering that empowers creators of various disciplines to pursue their craft by providing straightforward access to powerful tools for video editing, music creation, creative imaging, and visual productivity, enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”
Additionally, Creative Studio includes extras such as MainStage, converting Mac devices into versatile instruments, voice processors, or guitar rigs. Motion, another component, serves as a robust graphics tool for generating cinematic 2D and 3D effects with innovative features like Magnetic Mask for seamless isolation and tracking without a green screen.
Subscribers will also receive intelligent features and premium content enhancements for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, with Freeform upgrades for iPhone, iPad, and Mac scheduled for later in the year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers software remain complimentary, enhancements tailored for Creative Studio subscribers are in development to improve user experience.
Cue further stated, “There has never been a more flexible and accessible way to engage with a potent suite of creative applications, catering to professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to realize their creative endeavors from inception to completion.”
Apple Creator Studio is set to debut on the App Store on Wednesday, January 28, offering a one-month free trial for all users, with a three-month trial for buyers of MacBook or iPad devices.
Furthermore, Apple has unveiled special pricing for university students, with the software bundle available at a discounted rate of £2.99 monthly or £29.99 annually.
