Amazon has unveiled an updated price for its latest Fire TV Stick HD, presenting an opportune moment to explore a new streaming experience. The revamped device boasts enhancements such as a sleeker design, compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 for enhanced streaming quality, and faster overall performance.

The new Fire TV Stick HD is reported to be over 30% speedier than its predecessors, offering quicker boot-up times and enhanced app functionality, as per Amazon’s announcement.

Noteworthy is the device’s capability to draw power directly from a TV’s USB port, eliminating the necessity for a separate power adapter and ensuring a tidy cable setup behind the television.

Additionally, the device showcases Amazon’s latest Fire OS software, dubbed Vega, which pledges a more organized interface, intelligent content suggestions, and a more seamless browsing experience.

Amazon stated, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our most compact streaming device yet, with reduced volume and width compared to prior models, and designed for direct power supply through the TV’s USB port, enhancing its discreet placement behind a TV without requiring an extra power source.”

Initially priced at £39.99 upon its recent release, the new Fire TV Stick HD is now offered on Amazon at £25.99, reflecting a 35% price drop.

While the discount is appealing, bargain hunters seeking a lower price can find the 2024 Fire TV Stick HD for £24.99 at both Argos and Currys, undercutting Amazon by £1 and marking a £15 reduction from the original launch price.

The older HD model still provides access to popular streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, along with Full HD playback, Alexa voice commands, quick app launch shortcuts, and smart home control for compatible devices such as lighting systems.
