An American visitor to Asda amazed British onlookers by highlighting the distinctions between American and British supermarkets. Amber Kacherian, a social media influencer known as @amberkacherian on TikTok, captivated audiences with a recent viral video during her holiday in the UK where she reviewed British supermarkets and dining options.

Presenting her latest review to her one million followers, Amber captioned the post: “Americans explore ASDA in the UK for the first time!” In the video, she announced, “We are here in York, England, and we are about to explore this retail store named Asda for the first time.”

Expressing her initial thoughts, Amber remarked, “I’m not entirely sure what to expect, but I presume it’s akin to the UK’s version of Walmart? Let’s go and find out!” Upon entering the supermarket, the group was taken aback by its size. Amber exclaimed, “Oh, my goodness, it’s quite small. I feel like this entire store could fit inside the deli section at Walmart in America.”

As they navigated through the supermarket, Amber noticed some resemblances. “Aha! I had a feeling! It does resemble Walmart. They have this rollback feature here. That’s definitely a Walmart trademark,” she observed.

However, the chocolate section puzzled the shoppers. Amber pointed out, “There are some candies here that I’m not familiar with. Star Bar duo? What’s that? Twirl extra? These are new to us. Ah, there are the Jaffa Cakes! We tried those in the McFlurry! Cadbury mini rolls. Those look appealing.”

Comparing British treats to American ones, Amber noted, “We have a similar snack in America called ‘Little Debbie.’ They wouldn’t be labeled as Cadbury, but since these are Cadbury, I bet they’re even better than Little Debbie. We should definitely give these a try.”

Another tourist in Amber’s video recommended trying Mr Kipling French Fancies, claiming they are popular confectionery treats in England. Amber enthusiastically agreed, “Oh yes, we must try those! Let’s get them!”

Moving on to the birthday cake selection, the group came across a “Football cake,” which Amber humorously corrected to “soccer ball.” They also praised the UK for its affordable gluten-free options, with one member mentioning the price difference compared to the US.

Despite finding familiar items like beans for beans on toast, the group was disappointed with the lack of certain drinks. One member expressed dismay at not finding an orange dreamsickle Monster drink, which they considered the best.

Amidst exploring various products, Amber showcased the abundance of reduced sugar and zero sugar beverages, applauding her British friends for the assortment.

While browsing the crisps aisle, the group was puzzled by Walkers crisps, which closely resembled Lays chips but with different flavors. Amber also discovered Pom-bears, a snack she had heard of but had not seen in America.

The shoppers also checked out Halloween sweets, speculating on the availability of candy corn in the UK. They found toiletries and homeware with different names but resembling American products, prompting Amber to decipher the items based on packaging.

The video garnered over a million views within 24 hours, with viewers sharing their insights. One person mentioned the absence of candy corn in the UK, while another highlighted the significance of French fancies for hosting guests. A playful comment warned against starting a debate on the football-soccer terminology.
