Former cricket star Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff disclosed that he lost all his teeth in a serious car accident during the filming of a Top Gear episode in 2022. Flintoff, who has been dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after the incident, shared this shocking detail during a public appearance at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

At the event, the England cricket legend recounted pivotal moments in his life, including the time he drank 13 pints before scoring 142 against South Africa. The crash that caused Flintoff to lose all his teeth occurred while he was driving a Morgan Super 3 trike at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome for the Top Gear show.

In a documentary on Disney+, Flintoff revealed that he believed he was going to die when the car rolled over during the accident. Surgeon Jahrad Haq, who treated Flintoff, described the injuries as complex, involving various dental and facial injuries.

Reflecting on the traumatic event, Flintoff admitted that he vividly remembers the accident and the split-second decisions he had to make to survive. Despite briefly contemplating that death might have been an easier outcome, Flintoff emphasized that he never had suicidal thoughts and credited cricket for providing him with support and purpose during his recovery.

Since the accident, Flintoff has reconnected with cricket by coaching teams like the Northern Superchargers and the England Lions. His wife, Rachael, expressed that cricket played a crucial role in his healing process. Following the incident, the Top Gear show was put on hold in 2023, but Flintoff has continued his television career with other projects like his documentary series and hosting Bullseye.
