A recent official parliamentary investigation has uncovered that a former Conservative aide, who switched to the Reform party during the Tory conference, engaged in bullying and harassment towards a colleague. Robbie Lammas, formerly working under then-party chairman Richard Holden MP, was found to have bullied a junior staff member, as reported by The Express. The investigation by Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) upheld an allegation of bullying against Mr. Lammas, who reportedly intimidated the staff member and demanded a hug following a heated confrontation the previous year.
The investigator determined that Mr. Lammas’ actions were an abuse of his position of authority, which left the woman feeling vulnerable, upset, undermined, humiliated, and threatened, creating an intimidating and hostile work environment. Witnesses stated that Mr. Lammas raised his voice, gestured aggressively, falsely accused the staffer of lodging complaints about office issues, and threatened her job security by mentioning his history of dismissing employees.
Having previously held a senior position within the Conservative Government and CCHQ, Mr. Lammas announced his defection to Reform UK during the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. Subsequently, allegations of inappropriate behavior have surfaced from several former colleagues. One former staffer alleged instances of sexual harassment complaints and claimed that Mr. Lammas accessed female staff members’ addresses from the party database and sent them cards to their homes. Another described him as unprofessional and stated that he was dismissed due to poor performance.
Mr. Lammas has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, attributing the complaint to a targeted effort by CCHQ and Richard Holden. Reform UK has been contacted for a response regarding these allegations.
