Bernie Ecclestone has advised Lewis Hamilton to step away from Formula 1 amidst his challenging stint with Ferrari. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, made a high-profile move to the Italian team this season after leaving Mercedes.

The season has been tough for the 40-year-old, with no podium finishes in 14 races and a disappointing 12th place at the recent Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton has been outperformed in qualifying by his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc on multiple occasions, raising concerns about his performance.

Ecclestone, a former F1 figurehead, suggested that Hamilton might be fatigued and in need of a break from the sport. He emphasized the importance of knowing when to step back to avoid a decline in performance and potential risks to health.

Expressing concern for Hamilton’s well-being, Ecclestone recommended that if Hamilton chooses to continue, he should consider negotiating with Ferrari for a replacement. Acknowledging Hamilton’s impressive career with seven world titles, Ecclestone highlighted the need for Hamilton to assess the risks and rewards of continuing in the sport.

Hamilton, who signed a two-year contract with Ferrari, reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with his performance in Budapest and suggested a replacement. As Hamilton and his competitors gear up for the upcoming race in the Netherlands, the future remains uncertain for the renowned driver.
