Lewis Hamilton faces a crucial 2026 season in his pursuit of an eighth Formula 1 title. Despite this, his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc emphasizes the importance of staying focused on their current objectives.

Ferrari’s chances of winning either championship this season are slim, with McLaren holding a significant lead in the standings. McLaren is comfortably ahead by 299 points with only 10 races remaining, while the drivers’ championship battle narrows down to Lando Norris chasing the current leader, Oscar Piastri.

Currently holding second place, Ferrari aims to maintain this position ahead of Mercedes and Red Bull. Securing the runner-up spot and the accompanying prize money is a desirable goal for the team.

However, the championship position also impacts the team’s wind tunnel testing time allocation for car development. Finishing above Mercedes and Red Bull would result in Ferrari having less wind tunnel time, potentially hindering Hamilton’s competitiveness throughout the next season.

Despite these challenges, Leclerc stresses the team’s determination to strive for the second position in the constructors’ standings. Their primary objective remains returning to winning races promptly, regardless of their final position this season.

Additionally, viewers can enjoy live coverage of Formula 1 events, including practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and races, through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports package, which offers savings of £192. The bundle also includes access to over 100 TV channels, along with complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.

Leclerc’s recent pole position in Hungary did not translate into victory due to technical issues during the race. He acknowledges the dominance of McLaren this season, expressing doubts about Ferrari’s ability to challenge McLaren consistently. Leclerc anticipates a tough competition against McLaren and expects no specific track where Ferrari holds a significant advantage.

The coming races will reveal if Ferrari can overcome their challenges and make significant strides towards their goals in the remainder of the season.
