A man endured a terrifying kidnapping incident where he was bound, blindfolded, forced into a vehicle, and subjected to multiple stabbings. The court learned that Connor Price, aged 28, faced a harrowing abduction before his father orchestrated a daring rescue by ramming the kidnappers’ car with his own vehicle, enabling Mr. Price to escape through a car window.

Involved in the scheme to abduct Mr. Price from Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil on February 10 were Tyshane Brown, aged 30, Luke Williams, aged 19, and George Miles-Williams, aged 24, who demanded £5,000 from Mr. Price’s girlfriend.

Following his escape, Mr. Price, believing he had been shot, suffered multiple stab wounds and collapsed. Williams contacted Mr. Price, an acquaintance, to meet at Cyfartha Retail Park. The defendants, along with another man coerced by the threat of a gun, traveled to Merthyr Tydfil from Hereford. During the journey, Brown retrieved a bag from the bushes.

Upon Mr. Price’s arrival at the park, he was pulled into the defendants’ car while his girlfriend remained in their vehicle. Brown wielded a knife, poking Mr. Price in the back and abdomen. Amid the chaos, Mr. Price’s girlfriend raised an alarm about the weapons.

Despite attempts to flee, Mr. Price was restrained by Williams, and the assailants sped away in their car. Mr. Price’s girlfriend tried to pursue but lost sight of them. Mr. Price was then held in a headlock by Williams and repeatedly stabbed.

Both Williams and Brown demanded money and assaulted Mr. Price. The victim witnessed Brown loading a bullet into the gun, threatening to shoot him. Miles-Williams, in the passenger seat, laughed as Mr. Price pleaded poverty. Brown warned Mr. Price’s girlfriend not to involve the police.

In a bid to secure Mr. Price’s release, his girlfriend contacted his father, Jordan Price, who devised a plan to thwart the kidnappers. The plan involved a staged ransom drop-off at Cyfarthfa retail park, where the kidnappers would be trapped.

During the encounter, Mr. Price’s girlfriend deceived the kidnappers with a faux ransom drop, allowing Jordan Price and his companions to intervene. Despite a brief struggle, the kidnappers managed to flee, with Mr. Price still in the car.

A dramatic chase ensued, with Mr. Price trying to escape, eventually being rescued by his father after the kidnappers’ car was rammed. Mr. Price sustained severe injuries but was rushed to the hospital by his father, fearing for his life.

The perpetrators abandoned their vehicle and attempted to flee, leading to their subsequent arrests. Brown, Williams, and Miles-Williams were convicted on charges including attempted murder, kidnapping, blackmail, wounding with intent, possession of an imitation firearm, and possession of a blade.

In sentencing, Judge Lloyd-Clarke categorized Brown as the mastermind, Williams as a significant participant, and Miles-Williams in a supporting role. Brown received a 30-year prison term with an extended license, Williams was sentenced to 25 years in a young offenders institute, and Miles-Williams received a 20-year prison sentence.
