Tesco is set to raise the price of its meal deal starting this Thursday. For Clubcard members, the cost of the popular lunchtime option will go up from £3.60 to £3.85, while non-Clubcard holders will see the price increase from £4 to £4.25.
The current favorite items in the supermarket meal deal include the Tesco Chicken Club Sandwich as the main, Tesco Egg Protein Pot as the snack, and a 500ml Coca-Cola. These items, if bought separately, would amount to £6.50, resulting in a saving of £2.65 for Clubcard members. The premium Tesco meal deal will now cost £5.50 for Clubcard members and £6 for non-members.
This marks the third price increase for Clubcard members and the fourth for non-Clubcard holders. Tesco plans to introduce new products to its premium meal deal soon, such as the Finest Salmon Konbini Roll and Finest Gochujang Konbini Roll. The supermarket mentioned that over 80% of customers currently use a Clubcard when purchasing a lunchtime meal deal.
A Tesco spokesperson emphasized that the meal deal continues to offer great value, priced at £3.85 for a main, snack, and drink with a Clubcard. With over 20 million possible combinations, there is something for every taste, from classic options like the Chicken Club Sandwich to new additions like the Tesco Korean Style Chicken Dragon Rolls.
In addition, Tesco is encouraging Clubcard members to check their receipts for a chance to win a new Vauxhall Frontera Electric car as part of the Clubcard’s 30-year celebration. Shoppers can participate by scanning a QR code on selected receipts or screens in-store, or by visiting tesco.com/vauxhallcompetition. The competition will select a winner at random from Clubcard members with correct entries, closing on August 31.
The prize car is a Frontera Electric GS 44kWh 113PS with the optional Ultimate Pack and Canyon Orange metallic paint, valued at £25,995 OTR (after the Electric Car Grant).
