Selena Gomez, a well-known singer and actor, faced a lawsuit from investors on Thursday alleging fraud for her alleged failure to meet obligations in developing and promoting her mental health startup, Wondermind Global. The investors, who had put in around $1.2 million, were promised a platform to enhance mental fitness when the venture launched in 2021. Despite assurances that Gomez, a social media powerhouse with over 500 million followers, would actively participate as the marketing lead, investors claim she and other executives did not follow through on commitments, including the promised mobile app.
The lawsuit states that Gomez allegedly agreed to contractual obligations but did not honor them, with the company failing to fulfill even basic responsibilities like timely payment to employees and vendors. According to the plaintiffs, there were no concrete business plans in place, leading to financial losses and a lack of progress. Gomez’s camp has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding the allegations.
The investors were reportedly unaware of the company’s challenges until a news report surfaced in September 2025, revealing the situation. Seeking to recover their investments and legal costs, the plaintiffs have taken legal action against Gomez and the company leadership.
