In Russia, a man has been arrested for allegedly drugging, sexually assaulting, and causing the disappearance of young women he enticed to work as caregivers for his nine-year-old son.
Dmitry Artamoshin, aged 46, is accused of poisoning, physically attacking, and sexually exploiting women he hired as nannies before confining them within his property in Zvezda, Moscow. Authorities are currently seeking two missing women who are suspected to have been murdered.
Reports from law enforcement indicate that the suspect’s son, who was subjected to witnessing the assaults and facing physical abuse if he disobeyed, is now receiving care from psychologists. The child is described as traumatized, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and bearing scars and injuries.
Allegedly, the boy was also coerced into driving his father’s vehicle for alcohol purchases and forced to consume a suspicious liquid that caused him to lose consciousness – believed to be the same substance used on Artamoshin’s female victims.
One survivor who managed to escape recounted her harrowing experience, stating that she was on the brink of death multiple times. Initially, the suspect appeared harmless, according to her account to the media.
The suspect’s wife, who fled their home in March, claimed she had been raped, drugged, and physically assaulted. After her escape, she went into hiding, but Artamoshin actively sought her out and posted messages urging her return. Authorities are urging any additional female victims to come forward.
Artamoshin allegedly recruited the nannies through online advertisements, deceiving the community into believing he was a typical gardener with a school-aged child, as per a neighbor’s statement.
Facing charges of two murders, despite the absence of the missing nannies’ whereabouts, Artamoshin is also accused of sexual assaults, violence, and coercing women into drug use.
Reports suggest that the suspect could be sentenced to life imprisonment, unless psychiatric evaluations deem him mentally unfit, which could result in his indefinite confinement in a secure facility.
Formerly employed as a used car salesman, Artamoshin marketed himself as “The Great One” and was reportedly fixated on numerology, particularly the number 27.
Coincidentally, the two missing women vanished on the 27th of different months, mirroring Artamoshin’s birthday on August 27.
