A tragic incident occurred at a play center in Suffolk resulting in the death of a man who fell through a skylight on the center’s roof. The victim, identified as David Linyard, was a contractor working at Play2Day in Martlesham at the time of the accident back in June. Despite being hospitalized at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The play center had temporarily closed to children for maintenance work when the unfortunate incident happened. A spokesperson for the center expressed condolences, stating that they were informed by Mr. Linyard’s family about his passing due to the accident during routine roof maintenance.

Suffolk Police confirmed the man’s death, noting that the coroner had been informed. A joint investigation involving Suffolk Police, East Suffolk Council, and the Health & Safety Executive is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, with the involvement of the police, Health and Safety Executive, and East Suffolk District Council to understand the events leading to the fatal accident.
